we release loads of birds here every year brought from a variety of places at home and abroad and I've yet to meet one that will come when he is called, I have seen them on a regular basis drive both myself and the dogs demented though, not even providing a shot, just the faint sound of wings beating and a mocking laugh, somebody here is not giving these birds credit for their ability to adapt, I don't think any club will release birds so close to opening day that the birds will not have time to familiarise themselves with their surroundings, there would just be no point to it

An incubator bird will wise up quickly enough. They aren't tame by any means at all. As has been said, if a dog is put near them it warys them right up. The thing about bantom reared birds is there is a theory that they have a better instinct and will breed in the wild
